The amount of temptation we face each day can make me just shake my head in disbelief. Every indulgence can be had so easily in our modern and connected world. Although we are tempted we do not have to be slaves to temptation and sin. We have to remember that even Jesus Christ was tempted by Satan. Jesus actually had a conversation with Satan during his temptation. We must understand that we, as humans, are weak and that Jesus Christ the Son of God is strong. He may be able to walk away from a conversation with Satan but it may be more difficult for us. My pastor discussed this last Sunday when he explained how allowing temptation to remain in our thoughts, instead of banishing them in the name of God, is like we are having a conversation with Satan. We must avoid indulging in conversation with the one who comes to destroy us.

Matthew 26:41 (KJV)
Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

Luke 22:40 (KJV)
And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.
